Privacy Policy

The Hertfordshire Association of Architects (“the HAA”) is committed to protecting the privacy of Members’ data and processing it in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The HAA is a local branch of the Royal Institute of British Architects (“the RIBA”) covering Hertfordshire. The branch is run by volunteer members of the RIBA and forms part of the RIBA East region. 

1. About Us 


As part of our compliance obligations, the Hertfordshire Association of Architects (“the HAA”) confirms the following information: 

(a) The registered office of the RIBA is 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD; 

(b) You may contact us at HAAchairman@hertfordshire-architects.co.uk or you may contact the RIBA East team at riba.east@riba.org or +44 (0)1223 566 285. The RIBA may be contacted at info@riba.org or +44(0)20 7580 5533. 

(c) The HAA wish to process your data for the purpose of sending you information about relevant events we believe you may be interested in based on prior contact with you, because you have signed up via our online sign-up forms, or because you have agreed to receive updates from the RIBA as part of your Member communications preferences; 

(d) We will not share your data with any third party; 

(e) We will only keep your data for as long as required for this purpose and you can “unsubscribe” from further contact at any time; 

(f) You have the right to bring a complaint about how we process your data to the Information Commission Officer at any time - https://ico.org.uk 

2. Communication 


The Hertfordshire Association of Architects communicates with Members by email only via the RIBA East. 

2.1. Email 


Member emails are sent with reminders of the HAA’s monthly meetings, updates on HAA activities and other events relevant to the profession. These emails are sent to RIBA Members within the branch area, and to other recipients who have subscribed to the HAA’s email mailing list (referred to as “the email list” within this document) 

Recipients may unsubscribe or update their communication preferences at any time by clicking the relevant links provided at the bottom of each email. They may also email HAAsecretary@hertfordshire-architects.co.uk. If a subscriber opts-out of email communications by updating their RIBA Membership preferences, they will also be unsubscribed from HAA emails. 

 

3.  Cookies

 

Cookies are small pieces of information which are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Our systems may use cookies on their site to reduce the need to re-enter personal data when submitting information. You can set your browser to alert you prior to accepting cookies.

Our website uses cookies software provided by Google Analytics to monitor visitor usage to better understand how the website is used. The software will save a cookie to your computer hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of our website, but will not store, save or collect personal information.
